At Capehaul Ltd, we’re more than ready for summer. With longer days and warmer weather just around the corner, we’ve found ourselves dreaming of relaxing in the garden - but we also know that, following a harsh winter, all of our gardens could do with some love and attention!

Here’s our 5 top tips to get your garden Summer ready!

Declutter and Get Tidying!

The best way to start transforming your garden is with a good general clear up. Get rid of the broken furniture, old toys, rusty garden tools, bikes that don’t get used and general junk that has built up in your garden over time. Having a good declutter will leave you with a better canvas to get started on.

Create new flower beds or borders with topsoil

Add a splash of colour with some colourful flower beds! Whether your flower beds are overgrown or you’ve got dead borders on your hands, high quality top soil can be used to create new flower beds and borders that will flourish. Topsoil provides the nutrients and minerals to help your plants, shrubs and vegetables grow and flourish, so it’s always best to have some in storage for when your garden needs some TLC.

Think about revamping your garden furniture

If your garden furniture is tired and old, now is the time to give it a little revamp! Whether your furniture is made of wood, plastic or wicker, it’s likely going to need some care after being in the shed or garden all winter. Plastic furniture can be easily washed down, however, furniture made from timber will likely require some extra care. Wooden furniture should be cleaned and then sealed with wood oil to protect it against the elements.

Breathe life into your lawn

The winter months can leave our lawns looking a little worse for wear. Breathe some new life into those patchy brown spots. Again, topsoil makes a great base to lay turf or sow grass seed and can help to boost the appearance of your lawn. Make sure all debris and dead grass cuttings are removed, and don’t forget to feed and water your lawn regularly to keep it in top condition too.

If you’re looking for topsoil for your next gardening project, look no further than Capehaul Ltd.. Our high grade topsoil has a wide range of uses; it can be used as a nutrient rich base to grow vegetables or as a base to lay turf or sow grass seed.
